Project Description
Gai Jatra Community Service Project
On 29 August 2026, Rotary Club of New Road City, Kathmandu, in collaboration with Rotary, Rotaract and Inner Wheel partners, organized a community service program during the Gai Jatra festival at Tarani Temple, Makhan/Taleju Mandir. The project aimed to support and assist the large number of community members and parade participants attending the festival.
As part of the initiative, 450+ bottles of drinking water were distributed free of charge to parade walkers and the general public. A health support and first-aid service was also provided with the assistance of the medical team from Chirayu Hospital, Nepal Red Cross, and local community authorities. The program demonstrated Rotary’s commitment to “Service Above Self” by promoting community care, health awareness, and humanitarian support during a major local cultural festival.
